PROLO-THERAPY
Prolotherapy, or proliferative therapy, is a regenerative injection treatment used to alleviate chronic musculoskeletal pain by stimulating the body’s natural healing processes. It involves injecting an irritant solution, typically containing dextrose (a type of sugar), into the injured or painful area, such as ligaments, tendons, or joints. The injection is believed to cause a mild, localized inflammatory response that promotes tissue repair and strengthens weakened connective tissue.
Prolotherapy is often used to treat temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. It is considered a non-surgical alternative to treat pain by encouraging the regeneration of damaged tissues, improving joint stability, and reducing pain over time.
