ORAL APPLIANCES
Oral appliances are custom-made devices commonly used to manage temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, bruxism (teeth grinding), and headaches. These appliances are typically worn in the mouth to help improve jaw alignment, reduce muscle tension, and protect the teeth from damage caused by grinding or clenching.
For TMJ disorders, oral appliances work by repositioning the jaw to alleviate stress on the joint, promoting relaxation of the surrounding muscles and reducing pain. In cases of bruxism, the appliance acts as a protective barrier, preventing wear on the teeth and decreasing tension in the jaw muscles. Oral appliances offer a non-invasive and effective approach to managing these conditions, providing relief and improving overall function for patients.
